It seems like yesterday, but two years have passed doing pastoral ministry with Oamaru Baptist Church while based in Timaru.

A few years before I got involved with OBC, their membership and support had gradually decreased until the remaining few faithful couldn’t support employing a pastor.

  • Prayer Meeting – Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM
  • Youth Ministry – Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM

Following the decision on the 7th July meeting to call Jonan Castillon as a permanent pastor, we will hold the commissioning service on Sunday, 28 July.

We will have a Fellowship Lunch after the service as part of our celebration.

We have invited speakers for August. They are as follows:

  • 4th August – Jennifer Macleod
  • 11th August – Wendy Geerling, Associate Pastor, Gleniti Baptist Church
  • 18th August – Ross Waugh, Director, Hopevale Trust

Your ongoing support is deeply appreciated and essential for the progress of the ministries entrusted to us. Your generosity significantly contributes to the advancement of His work. Thank you for being so supportive.

Mission Philippines – Praise God for a successful MAP Toolkit online seminar

Thank you all for your prayers. The MAP Toolkit online seminar was a success. There were 44 registered participants, most pastors of churches in the mountains of South Negros, Philippines.

I am deeply humbled and thankful because this online training fulfills my long-time plan to share the MAP Toolkit with God’s shepherds in the PhilippineGod’saying for more mission opportunities like this.

Below are two photos of the participants.

Testimony through photos

I found this photo online of the OBC congregation in 1900. What does the old photo say about our church 123 years ago? We need a photo of us in 2023.
