I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

A Prayer on the Death of our Beloved Queen Elizabeth the Second – RIP
Lord Jesus, we give you thanks for our late Queen Elizabeth the Second’s life.
She was a woman of great faith, and through adversity, she depended upon you and never failed to witness that you have been her strength for many years.
During family tragedies, she held her head high and was always an encourager to those going through difficulties.
In an age where atheism and Darwinian theory seems to be attracting anti-Christian attitudes, her late Majesty always put YOU FIRST, and she never wavered.
We know, Lord, that you created us for a special purpose, and when we look at the life of our late Queen, we become aware that she has always spoken up for CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES.
May those principles of morality influence governments throughout the world, and she is remembered for drawing nations and cultures together.
We think of the Royal Family and their grief with the loss of their Christian role model and pray that her influence will guide them as head of their household in the past.
Guide them and guard them, Lord, that our late monarch’s faith, wisdom and enthusiasm have rubbed off upon them so that they too will worship you and continue to lead lives of purpose as she did.
Help us all study your rule book, THE HOLY BIBLE and may we all one day enjoy the rule of genuine Christian leadership.
Sorrow, Happiness and Joy are all part of the human experience, and all three depend largely on circumstances when we unite ourselves to the Risen Christ; however, HE gives us JOY, THAT NO OBSTACLE, PROBLEM OR SITUATION CAN TAKE AWAY.
We pray for King Charles the Third and ask you, Lord, to protect and guide him and may he realise what a great and loving Saviour you are and may he walk in the footsteps of our late Queen with his wife Camilla, now Queen Consort and may they both bow down to YOUR THRONE OF GRACE.
Holy Spirit – Help us all to depend upon you and to be able to put our faith to the fore.
GOD SAVE THE KING ……… GOD BLESS THE KING.
About the Author
During the 11 September Sunday worship service, we gave our respect and honour to the late HM Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family through prayer by Malcolm Lucas.
Malcolm served in the Royal Navy for 12 years. He met Val during that time, and they married in 1967. He came to faith in the early 80s at a Billy Graham event after thinking he should take friends who needed to know the Lord. We came to New Zealand in the early 90s to spend some time with Val’s family. He loves writing and has a keen interest in politics. They have two sons, both in their fifties and living in the UK.
